About

Our law office diligently attempts to resolve disagreements between residential and commercial landlords and their tenants. Both landlords and tenants have rights and our job is to find a resolution to serious disputes and disagreements between these parties; this can come through mediation, litigation, or sometimes, both. While we strive to avoid the court process due to the cost and inconvenience, when necessary, we will fight for you in a court of law and are experienced in that regard.

Often the first step in resolving a commercial or residential landlord v. tenant dispute is to thoroughly review the lease signed by both parties. Who has certain obligations? Were those obligations carried out to the letter of the document? Our office has experience in not only reviewing these types of contracts, but also understanding when the contracts can be terminated and when they can be enforced.

Additionally, we have mediated and litigated cases that involve various forms of evictions and foreclosures. Evictions are not just the judicial result of a tenant’s not paying rent; evictions can include: constructive evictions, where a landlord makes the property uninhabitable; illegal self-help evictions, where a landlord locks a tenant out of its business premises; or HOA evictions, which are often spurred by failure to pay regular or special assessment fees and can result in the HOA being able to take control of your unit. Foreclosures, on the other hand, can be very complicated, long cases that can result in significant financial and equity loss in your home. For either of these cases, it's imperative to hire an attorney to best protect your interests.
